Suprising WWE Rumor Reveals Huge Plans For John Cena At 2025 Royal Rumble

A new report reveals WWE may have some huge plans for John Cena when it comes to the 2025 Royal Rumble.

With 2025 finally here, we are now at the early stages of the John Cena retirement tour. Last summer, the “Dr. of Thuganomics” revealed that instead of one final match, he would use all of this year as a final goodbye to WWE fans around the world.

In the coming months, the 16-time world champion will have many final appearances. He will take part in his last Elimination Chamber. His last Money in the Bank. Last Survivor Series and last WrestleMania. At the end of this month, he will compete in the Royal Rumble for the final time as well.

During WWE Raw’s debut on Netflix, Cena revealed he would take part in this year’s 30-man battle royale. However, he also tried to give a realistic outlook on what he could achieve during his final year as an active wrestler. However, a new report suggests he could do the unthinkable at the 2025 Royal Rumble.

“I think everybody in attendance live gave him the reaction that he was looking for, and they want to see number 17,” Wrestle Votes said during a new Backstage Pass Q&A (h/t WrestlingNews.co). “So, you know, we had heard that he was one of the leaders in the clubhouse prior to last night. And I think last night only solidified that he’s probably choice 1 or 1A [to win the Royal Rumble], so yeah, I’d say it looks good at this point.”

John Cena winning the Rumble would make sense considering recent rumors that he is penciled in to face Cody Rhodes in one of the main events of this year’s WrestleMania. A Rumble victory for the future WWE Hall-of-Famer would be his third. It would tie him with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for the most Rumble wins at three.
