Could WWE icons like The Rock and Steve Austin show up for Monday Night Raw’s January debut on Netflix? A massive new rumor reveals some very exciting news.
The main focus for WWE right now is on this weekend’s massive Saturday Night’s Main Event card. The event will air live on NBC and feature a boatload of major matchups. Including Cody Rhodes defending the WWE title against Kevin Owens, and Gunther facing Damian Priest and Finn Balor for his World Heavyweight title.
However, once Saturday Night’s Main Event ends, all focus will pivot to WWE’s highly anticipated debut on streaming giant Netflix. Monday Night Raw on January 6 will be the first episode of a new 10-year deal with Netflix that is worth $5 billion.
For weeks, there have been reports about the company making a large and loud introduction on Netflix. And it could include many of the company’s top stars appearing on episodes of WWE Raw throughout January. However, a new report claims some of the biggest names in WWE history could be making an appearance for the Jan. 6 show.
The Rock and Steve Austin to return for WWE Raw debut on Netflix?

“Well, I don’t know, are you counting The Rock as a surprise? Are you counting John Cena as a surprise? They’ll both be there,” Bill Apter revealed in a new Sportskeeda Backstage Pass on Patreon. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Steve Austin showed up.
“I heard Shawn Michaels may make an appearance. Anybody that they have under a legends deal and is healthy enough to be in Los Angeles, I would expect to be there.”
The Rock appearing on Raw on Netflix has been rumored for some time. And Netflix executives have reportedly been pushing for it. John Cena showing up also makes sense to kick off his retirement tour throughout 2025. Shawn Michaels is the head of NXT and his appearance would be easy to put together.
However, Steve Austin being in LA for the event would be a great surprise for longtime fans. One can only hope we get the Austin-Rock showdown that was rumored for WrestleMania 40.
