Following his stunning upset loss on WWE Raw this week, a new rumor suggests former Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker could soon get a major change in his character.
One of the elements of WWE that makes it different than most wrestling companies is its developmental system. The Performance Center has become ground zero for future WWE stars. And one of the most recent graduates from the system, and NXT, is Bron Breakker.

The son of Rick Steiner, and nephew of Scott Steiner, had a dominant run in the gold-and-black brand that included two NXT title reigns. It was an eventuality that he would get called up to the main roster and be an impact player. That has been the story of his WWE Raw run in 2024.
In just a matter of months, he has scored several major wins and became the Intercontinental Champion. However, despite being positioned as the next big star in the company, his IC title run was shockingly short. In his first title defense this week against Jey Uso, Breakker was on the wrong side of an upset loss to the master of “Yeet.
Uso deserved to be a singles champion in WWE. But it was still surprising that it came at the expense of the super prospect. Well, it seems like dropping the gold may not be the only major change for Bron Breakker in the near future.
Bron Breakker headed to a babyface turn soon?
“They are definitely building towards a Bron Breakker babyface turn. They are already doing a thing where they are trying to get the fans to bark. That’s a babyface move,” Dave Meltzer said on a new edition of Wrestling Observer Radio this week. “So, they are already on the babyface track.”
The barking fans have gotten louder in recent weeks. And a heel who engages in a popular form of fan engagement is unusual. While Breakker has been a very good heel, the company could see a new top babyface on their hands with how fans have quickly gravitated to the new star.
