Quick Results:

Best Match:

On most nights, either of the women’s bouts takes this one, if I am being honest. Both were really good. But they were up against a triple threat ladder match with gold on the line. So, yes, the ladder match did the trick.

Worst Match:

No complaints. Sometimes those odd gimmick matches aren’t all that good, but the dumpster match worked.

Noteworthy Moments:

AJ Styles was back, but may be down with an injury-or at least, dealing with an injury angle. But, the big take away from things? Probably at least? Styles when last we saw him was a clear heel. But the Phenomenal One tonight was definitely more a face. WWE didn’t just forget the recent heel run-it was acknowledged by Styles and called out by LA Knight and Carmelo Hayes. I liked the segment, curious to see where things go.

And, pretty sure we got a teaser for the Motor City Machine Guns. That or someone in WWE wants to revive Fastlane?

Holy S#$t Moments:

Decent amount of action in that dumpster match, including that end spot. Through a table, into a dumpster? Sure, there was probably padding there for them to land on, but still. I have to think (hope?) that Chelsea got covered in garbage now, so that she can be holding some gold down the road.

And, this shouldn’t be a big deal, but here it is. Four matches tonight. Two of them were women’s matches. And on top of that, there was a nice backstage segment with Bianca, Jade and Naomi, as well as the in ring segment between Bayley and Nia Jax. Like seeing some screen time parity.

Lowlights:

I really hope Styles’ injury is not a legit one. If so, that would be unfortunate to see on the night he returned after a few months away.

Highlights:

The hype is all done. This time tomorrow we will be reviewing what happened in Atlanta. Did we get any major returns? Any crazy angles or spots? We have a number of matches that should have us talking for a bit, not the least of which is Hell In A Cell.

After The Final Bell:

Fairly uncomplicated show, to be honest. That’s not a bad thing. We got a few matches that in years past might have been filler on a PLE which would make it needlessly long, and/or take time away from some other match. Should the tag belts be on the PLE? Probably, but a SmackDown main event isn’t a bad spot for those results either.
