WWE Crown Jewel Titles Staying In Saudi Arabia: What Will Cody Rhodes Or Gunther Get For Win On Saturday?

In a bit of a bait and switch, WWE told us on Friday that the Crown Jewel titles are staying in Saudi Arabia following Saturday’s big event.

For weeks leading up to our latest Saudi Arabian premium live event, we’ve seen the flashy and gaudy, diamond-encrusted titles on every RAW and SmackDown. We were told that we’d see champion versus champion, with the winner getting the title belt. It would be a massive, expensive, and ceremonial title. The winner would never defend it. We would never see it again (probably). But we got to see it, and the big case, and the security, for weeks.

On the press day prior to Crown Jewel, did a bit of a 180. I’d wager this was either always the plan, or a pivot. Probably the plan all along, but one that was weirdly not communicated. But in any case, whoever wins the champion versus champion clashes will NOT be leaving Riyadh with a very valuable title belt. Instead, those over-the-top title belts? They will be staying in Saudi Arabia, finding a home at the WWE Experience instead.

WWE Crown Jewel belts aren’t going home with anyone

And for the winners of those two big matches? To the victor will still go the spoils…sort of. Per the conference, whoever wins will not be getting the really big belt. Instead, Gunther or Cody Rhodes, and Nia Jax or Liv Morgan will be receiving a title ring.

As it was explained, the prize will be more akin to a Super Bowl or other major professional championship ring. The title or trophy stays where it needs to be, and each winner gets their own personalized memento. And honestly, this makes more sense.

It would be insane to think that someone was making two of those belts per year. And if you aren’t defending the belt, why have it be a belt at all, right? So, if you were tired of seeing them, then knowing that the Crown Jewel titles are staying in Saudi Arabia should make you happy.
