NXT star Trick Williams was recently asked about a potential move to WWE Raw or Smackdown in the near future. And it seems the former NXT Champion is in no rush to take his talents to the main roster.

Similar to Raw and Smackdown, NXT has built some serious momentum over the last couple of years. After getting revamped by former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels has taken NXT in a familiar black-and-gold direction over the last year. Instead of heavily relying on developmental talent, “HBK” has started to sign more veteran performers to fill out the roster.

However, despite the influence of well-known talent, one of the anchors of the brand is one of those former developmental talents. Trick Williams is one of the faces of NXT. As well as one of its most tenured performers. A serious case could be made that he’s ready to compete with the best of the best on Raw and Smackdown now.

It was something he was asked about during an interview with Chris VanVliet on Tuesday. And surprisingly, Williams is just fine staying in NXT for a while longer.

“I think about it all the time, but I’m happy where my feet are,” Williams said. “I mean, NXT is on fire right now. Arguably one of the better times NXT has ever seen. So with that, I’m proud to be here. I’m proud to be the face of NXT.

“Why are we going to CW [and] got the biggest TV deal NXT has ever gotten? Why are we doing this traveling and stuff now? I’m part of it, and it feels good to say, hey, we part of something special here.”

NXT boss Shawn Michaels surely won’t be against holding on to Trick Williams for as long as he can. But chances are by the start of 2025, the former NXT champ will likely be getting called up to maximize his money-making potential on the main shows.
