ECW veteran Tommy Dreamer has been keeping a close eye on the wrestling landscape today. This includes WWE NXT, where he has identified a top prospect worthy of being called the next AJ Styles..
NXT has attracted some of the most talented and dynamic aspirants who are looking to become the next breakout star. There has been one superstar in particular who has delivered exceptional matches using a level of athleticism that is awe-inspiring. Similar to a particular former multi-time WWE champion.
During a recent edition of the Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer called NXT star Je’Von Evans the next AJ Styles. And he believes he can be a building block for any wrestling promotion, including WWE.
“If I had my choice of who would be my No.1 draft pick if I am drafting, it’s Je’Von Evans,” Dreamer said. “Man, that guy has it. He’s so young, he’s so entertaining, he does everything different. If I look at him, I would say you have your next AJ Styles, when AJ Styles was in TNA.
“He’s also a lot bigger than most people. I’m talking height and his body, and if it continues to grow and work out and they have some of the best athletic trainers and strength coaches there, that guy would be something, barring any injury. And I just wanna keep seeing him do his thing.”
Je’Von Evans has been a top prospect in NXT for the last couple of years. He has been part of some major matches of late, including title bouts, and facing WWE legend Randy Orton last year. So, it will be interesting to see if he can continue that success when he eventually moves to the main roster in the future.
