Tiffany Stratton Has Interesting Idea For What Rumored WWE Women’s Mid-Card Title Could Be Called

Smackdown star Tiffany Stratton is the latest female wrestler that is hoping for a mid-card women’s title soon, and she has an interesting name for it.

The women’s division in WWE is the best it has ever been. Over the last decade the company has made a concerted effort to grow that side of the roster and the Performance Center has played a huge role in developing some legendary female performers.

From Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch to Bianca Belair and Tiffany Stratton, outstanding women’s wrestlers continue to be produced by the PC and developmental brand NXT. With the women’s division as deep as ever there has been a fan push for more titles to hold.

The company acquiesced and created the women’s tag team titles a few years ago. Over the last year, there has been rumblings of a mid-card women’s title on the main roster. NXT has already experimented with the concept and have had early success with the women’s North American title.

“I think it would be a great idea. Because I know NXT has one, actually, and they have so many women down in NXT. And we have so many women on the main roster right now,” Stratton told Gorilla Position this week. “So I think it would be a great idea to introduce a mid-card title, and I think a Netflix Championship. I think that’d be amazing. What a great idea.”

A championship named after the network a wrestling product airs on is not unfamiliar to modern wrestling fans. AEW currently has TNT and TBS Championships that serve as mid card titles for the men’s and women’s divisions respectively. That is also the two channels the company’s TV content airs on.

Futhermore, promotions like WCW and ECW had TV titles during their history. However, that has never been a path WWE has taken in the past. Nevertheless, after signing a 10-year deal worth $5 billion with Netflix last year, WWE could decide this would be the time to introduce a network/streaming themed title.

However, only WWE Raw will air on Netflix. It is unclear if the USA Network would be okay with the idea of Netflix getting a free plug if the title is defended on both brands.
