In certain ways, they are similar in how their ability to entertain fans with their words is a major part of their success. However, they are very different in their looks and how they work in the ring. They also had contrasting relationships with management during their time in the company.

It is why their short rivalry in January of 2013 was an interesting moment in company history. It also frustrated many fans because The Rock returned from a hiatus to end Punk’s 400-plus day WWE title reign to set up a WrestleMania match with John Cena.
Punk made his infamous exit from the company a year later, and it has made some wonder if that loss to The Rock was where things truly began to sour for him. A couple of weeks ago, the “Second City Saint” delivered a scathing promo on WWE Raw that took some strong shots at the current TKO board member. It added to speculation that maybe the two don’t really like each other.

A popular Instagram influencer suggested there are real issues. And The Rock will block Punk from being a WrestleMania main-eventer in a new video. Well, that video actually made its way back to the WWE icon, and he actually responded to the video.
“First of all, Punk and I have become good buddies over the years. We’re solid,” he wrote. “Secondly, whatever match-making scenario is best for true long-term (not short-term) business success will be our Mania main event. Lastly, you’re a clown.”
The fact that it was revealed on this week’s Smackdown that CM Punk will be in the night one WrestleMania 41 main event further puts to rest the bizarre idea.
