In a bit of non-WWE news, several TNA contracts are expiring soon, including former Superstar AJ Francis, formerly Top Dolla.

Considering I tend to go WWE-heavy for a variety of reasons, it is nice to branch out into TNA news for a change. And it’s neither good nor bad, but interesting.

According to Fightful, several TNA contracts are expiring between now and the end of 2024. Those names include Trent Seven, KUSHIDA, and perhaps the biggest name of them all, AJ Francis. WWE fans know him as former Hit Row big man Top Dolla.

Furthermore, Wrestling Observer reporter Dave Meltzer claimed this week the contract of former two-time TNA Champion Josh Alexander is also expiring very soon.

All three have spent time in WWE. All had been featured in NXT, but only Francis reached the main roster. The talents have done well enough with TNA, but their shorter-term deals (as compared to AEW or WWE) mean they will be free agents soon.

What next for AJ Francis

According to reports, specifically surrounding AJ Francis, there is mutual interest in a new deal. As for Seven and KUSHIDA, their deals are actually said to have expired and neither is currently a part of TNA at the moment.

Though WWE fans might mostly remember him for the awful “flop” Dolla spot, Francis has grown and improved during his time in TNA. While both sides remain open to a new deal, there is another upside.

WWE may not have interest (yet) in bringing Francis or anyone else back to the company. But there is another way. As we all now know, WWE and TNA have a healthy working relationship. Should both sides and talents involved be interested, it seems possible that we could see crossovers if nothing else.

As for Seven and KUSHIDA, I enjoyed both in their NXT roles. Not saying that Triple H would bring them back, but it could be an idea. Of course, in the case of Seven, I would love to see a Moustache Mountain reunion…but his former tag partner Tyler Bate is on the injured list.
