We’ve seen some tiny hints at it, and retired WWE Superstar Wade Barrett confirms he is open to one more match.

In the last few months, we’ve watched WWE give us one of the most intense and personal feuds in pro wrestling this year. And perhaps the coolest thing about it? It was not on anyone’s radar at this point last year. Nor even say, right when CM Punk returned. No, as far as fans were concerned, especially after the initial fallout of his surprise return in November of 2023, we were banking on Punk/Rollins at WrestleMania.

Unfortunately, injuries happened and things had to change, and change they did. Instead of enjoying some insane and heated Punk/Rollins offerings, we got Punk and Drew McIntyre going at each other for months, and it’s been nothing short of glorious. Seriously, it’s as hot as any feud, and over not a title, but rather a bracelet! The writing and the Superstars ought to be commended for that.

But we could be having another small program teased. Maybe. Along the way, as Drew McIntyre has snapped more than once, Wade Barrett has tried to intervene. Barrett and McIntyre are friends, but that hasn’t meant too much to Drew once he snapped. Speculation about a possible Bad News return to take on McIntyre had been floated, but it’s mostly fans being fans. Right?

Maybe not

Retired Superstar Wade Barrett is currently a commentator for WWE Monday Night RAW. He mentioned that he would be willing to come back, but he said it with some major caveats. Specifically, Wade Barrett would love to come back for a match, one on one against McIntyre, at Wembley Stadium. As Wade called it, such a match on such a stage would be a top of the mountain moment for the British Superstars. That being said, you could sense that it was a long shot (especially since, at the moment, WWE has no major events announced for London).
