He has not been seen since Kevin Owens gave him a pile driver a couple of months ago, so when will Randy Orton return to WWE?
It’s been a bit since we’ve seen Randy Orton on RAW, Smackdown or any other WWE programming. With lots happening quickly in 2025, fans are surely wondering when the Viper will return to television. Well, a new report this week revealed if the multi-time champion could return for the company’s massive debut on Netflix next week.

Will Randy Orton Be At WWE Raw Netflix Debut?
The big event to start the new year is, of course, the Netflix debut for RAW on January 6th. Per reports from WrestleVotes recently, Orton is not expected back on the debut show. Of course, it is possible he will be present, and may appear, but it does not seem likely.
So, if not one of the biggest RAW shows ever, then when would make sense for an Orton return? Well, fans, we don’t have to look too far into the future.
Could Orton return at Royal Rumble 2025?
After all, on February 1st, the Royal Rumble hits Indianapolis. And as any good WWE fan knows, the Royal Rumble is well known for returns and surprises. According to the report, they expect Randy Orton to indeed be back at the Rumble, if not before it.
For now, we know we have Cody Rhodes taking on Kevin Owens in a ladder match at the Royal Rumble. Rhodes recently mentioned his friendship with Orton as a reason he detests what Owens is doing now. So there is one hook for a Viper return, if not in the Rumble itself. Or, he could do both.
Of course, this is just one (generally reliable) source. And said source did not say “Orton will definitely be a surprise return in the Rumble”. It could be that he is back ahead of it. After all, we’ve seen in recent years that some of the more obvious returns get revealed before the event for better or worse.
Either way, it sure does seem like the future Hall of Famer will be back in time for the Road to WrestleMania.
