WWE Star Omos Returning To The Ring Soon, But For A Japanese Promotion?

WWE veteran Omos hasn’t done much for WWE in 2024, but he is starting 2025 off fast and is returning to the ring for Pro Wrestling NOAH.

If you have forgotten about the Nigerian Giant Omos, there is a reason for that. The last time we’ve seen him in a WWE ring was back during the Andre The Giant Battle Royal, way back before WrestleMania. Yes, it’s been a while.

Omos shockingly returns for Japanese promotion

While he is still a WWE Superstar-and was announced as much-Omos will be starting the new year off in a tag match. But, the match is not on RAW or SmackDown, but rather for Pro Wrestling NOAH.

It is certainly a most unexpected turn of events. The man who has been a tag champion while in WWE has been a non-factor for quite some time. Now, after being completely missing for most of the year, he pops up to serve as a mystery partner for GHC tag team championship belts on January 1st, 2025.

Raise your hand if you expected Omos in NOAH at all. Raise your other hand and give yourself a high five if you expected it and also figured it would involve a championship opportunity.

In all fairness, this could be a good thing for the big man. It gives him a big opportunity and some more experience. That being said, if WWE has no plans for him to be regularly used on either RAW or SmackDown, there are other options.

For one, we are now in the midst of this “transfer window” in WWE. Why not send Omos to NXT where he could wrestle a lot more (ideally) and be more ready for a return to the main roster? Or, considering the partnership with TNA? Why couldn’t he be one of the big notables who show up on IMPACT to do damage?

I will say, good for Omos to get such an opportunity. Hopefully, his big start to 2025 is a sign of things to come.
