A top WWE SmackDown star could be returning to TV soon if one report is to be believed.
Fans have taken notice of Shinsuke Nakamura’s absence. While the former two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion has worked house show dates, he hasn’t had a match on TV since being drafted to the blue brand earlier this year.

Reports have surfaced over the past few months claiming that WWE simply didn’t have creative plans for Nakamura. It appears the company could finally be ready to unleash the “King of Strong Style” once again.
Shinsuke Nakamura Attending WWE SmackDown This Week
PWInsider reports that Shinsuke Nakamura is scheduled to be on the road with WWE in Brooklyn for the upcoming Friday Night SmackDown double-taping. Whether this means Nakamura will be featured on-air or if he’ll be a part of a dark match remains to be seen.
WWE could use another notable name on SmackDown following AJ Styles’ recent injury. Styles had played the role of a babyface upon his return, so it’ll be interesting to see if Nakamura fills that void. A potential Styles vs. Carmelo Hayes feud looked to be brewing, so perhaps Nakamura can step in as the hero.
Nakamura is no stranger to being a heel, however. He could be a suitable dance partner for the current United States Champion, LA Knight. The SmackDown roster has been quite thin when it comes to high-level heels, which explains Kevin Owens’ recent turn.
