It’s that time of year when you can’t avoid politics, and could The Rock be siding with Donald Trump?

It’s nearly election day in the United States, which is where I am so it’s something I am all to aware of. One thing I won’t miss is the door to door campaigners, the spam calls and mails and of course, the political ads. The world would be a better place if we just had all of those politicians spend that money to end homelessness or hunger or something else, rather than waste the airwaves. But I digress. How does this deal with wrestling? Well we’ve already seen a very different Dave Bautista urge people to vote after he voted for Kamala Harris. We more recently saw Kane and The Undertaker put their more legendary support behind Donald Trump, who was a guest on the Six Feet Under podcast.
Well, that may not be the last Superstar
Something else coming out of that podcast appearance was this nugget from Donald Trump. According to the former and likely future president of the United States, following the first attempt on his life in July, he got a call from The Rock. As the WWE Hall of Famer put it, following being shot in the ear, The Rock reached out to Dana White for Trump’s digits. As the Donald put it, Rock saw how Trump handled himself after being shot in the ear as a significantly brave act.

Now, that isn’t quite the same thing as an endorsement. The Rock may never provide such a thing to Trump. Considering that Rock has, over the years, aligned with democratic politicians and donors as much as or more than anyone else, an endorsement of the GOP nominee would be stunning. But, Dana White is a big fan of Trump, routinely hosting him at UFC events. And considering that Dana White’s UFC is under the TKO umbrella like WWE, and Rock is on the board of TKO, it made sense for one to reach out to the other for the connection.
