The WWE roster in 2025 is as good as it has ever been. It could be argued that the assemblage of talent the company has on WWE Raw, Smackdown, and NXT is the greatest professional wrestling roster of all time. However, because the competition is so fierce some talent ends up being cut in favor of fresh faces.
That was the case over the weekend. When reports came out after this week’s Smackdown several WWE veterans like Sonya Deville and AOP were cut from the roster. That was followed by an update revealing former tag champions the Good Brothers and Giovanni Ricci were also a part of the releases.
Well, the WWE roster cuts were not just to save money or move performers they had no plans for. Fightful reported on Sunday that the releases were made to open spots for NXT stars expected to be promoted to the main roster. With that in mind, here are eight NXT veterans who could be heading to WWE Raw or Smackdown soon.

Roxanne Perez
There really is nothing left for Roxanne Perez to prove in NXT. The fact that her lengthy reign as women’s champion ended last month to Giulias may be evidence her time in the brand is coming to an end. Her record-setting run in this year’s Royal Rumble only fuels the narrative that Roxanne is heading to Raw or Smackdown very soon.

Trick Williams
Like Perez, Trick Williams has done it all in NXT. He is one of the few men to win the title twice. And a third run seems very unlikely. He has all the tools to be a future WWE world champion. He has the look, is very athletic, is a good wrestler, and is talented on the mic. The company will be very careful about when they have him debut. But expect Williams on the main roster in the next few months.

Sol Ruca
Sol Ruca is a talented wrestler with a fantastic finishing move and a unique look and gimmick. She could easily be competing for the NXT Women’s or North American titles. But it seems like there is no clear direction for her at the moment. That could be a sign she is biding her time until she gets the call up to the big time.
Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson
In terms of character and wrestling talent, the Meta Four girls — Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson — are arguably the best tag team on the NXT roster. Men or women. They have flirted with winning the WWE Women’s tag titles in recent months but have come up short. It just feels like a matter of time before they are finally called up and win the titles.

Gallus
Former NXT tag champs Gallus — Wolfgang, Joe Coffey, and Mark Coffey — have been out of the title picture for the last few months. The faction is a veteran group with a ton of experience. They have a hard-hitting style that is ready-made for the main roster. With the trio not involved in any storylines currently, they could be headed to the main roster next.
