Cody Rhodes recently revealed when he plans to end his run as a full-time WWE superstar and join Roman Reigns as a part-time performer.
“The American Nightmare’s” decision to leave the company he helped form, AEW, to return to WWE was arguably the biggest story in the wrestling business in 2022. And since he stepped back into a World Wrestling Entertainment ring, he has been one of the faces of the company.

His status in WWE was elevated to new heights this year when he ended Roman Reigns’ iconic title run at WrestleMania 40. Now, he is the undisputed face of the promotion, and business has been very good with Rhodes as the company’s top star.
WWE would love for Rhodes to be the face of the company for the next decade. However, all great runs come to an end. Despite not even being 40 years old yet, Cody Rhodes has an end in sight when it comes to his full-time career. And it is not that far off.
Cody Rhodes claims he plans to end his full-time WWE run when he turns 45 years old
“I don’t want to wrestle full-time definitely past 45,” claimed on the “2 Bears 1 Cave” podcast. “I’ll drop in for sure, keep myself in shape… I’ve always been so linked to wrestling. And coming back to WWE, where winning the championship for WWE is essentially like being the quarterback of the team. It’s been the most fun and rewarding time I’ve ever had in my career.”
Previously, Cody Rhodes has suggested he would want to retire as a full-time wrestler at 40. However, the 39-year-old has hit a new peak period as he enters his “wrestler prime.” So it isn’t too surprising that he has pushed back those original plans.
For diehard Rhodes fans, it wouldn’t be shocking if he pushed back his part-timer at 45 plans as well in six years.
