There has been a lot of chatter about AJ Styles in recent months. We had not seen Styles in a few months, at least not on WWE television. And with his absence, there was discussion about his contract status and whether he was long for WWE. But then, just like that, we got a banner on SmackDown announcing his return in one week. And return he did, facing Carmelo Hayes. But, the return did not go as he would have liked. Mid-match, he landed awkwardly and grabbed at his foot, and shortly after the referee called for a stop to the match.
But was he really injured
At first, there were some who speculated that Styles was not injured, but that this was an angle. AJ Styles himself confirmed that his injury on SmackDown was a legitimate one.
