With their next PLE already coming up next weekend and a huge main event already set, there’s plenty to look forward to on this week’s WWE Smackdown. - John Cena’s first couple of weeks as the new Undisputed WWE Champion have been haunted by the specter of his arch-rival, Randy Orton. Orton has managed to get the better of Cena as of late, including laying him out yet again with an RKO on last week’s Smackdown. Now, a title match between the two is official for Backlash which also happens to be in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Billed as “One Last Time”, what else will go down this week ahead of this monumental clash?
- Last week saw the long-rumored return of Aleister Black. The enigmatic superstar made his presence known by making his typical spectacular entrance and laying out The Miz. Following that return and confrontation, we will get Black’s first match since returning as he takes on Miz one-on-one. We can be sure Miz did not take kindly to what happened last week, but will he have any shot of taking Black down? And how will Black look in his first WWE action in almost four years?
- If last week’s Smackdown is any indication, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton will have no shortage of challengers in the immediate future. After coming down to the ring last week to bask in the glow of her Wrestlemania win, she was interrupted by Jade Cargill. This resulted in an impromptu one-on-one match which ended in chaotic fashion as Naomi ran down and attacked Cargill, resulting in a disqualification. Stratton didn’t escape unscathed either, as she was blindsided by her old ally-turned-rival, Nia Jax. Will these altercations intertwine and result in all four women fighting for the title?
