The WWE releases continue, with The Velveteen Dream brung let go. It should come as no surprise and fans are happy about the decision.

WWE has released another NXT talent. This time, they sent The Velveteen Dream packing.

Earlier in the week, several NXT wrestlers and referees were realized. Although, The Velveteen Dream was released today according to PWInsider.

WWE told the other releases they were related to budget cuts.  While WWE did not lose a ton of money during the pandemic as they fired many people, business still took a dramatic hit.

Currently, there is no word on what led to The Velveteen Dream’s firing. So, please stay tuned.

Fans last saw The Velveteen Dream on the December 23 episode of NXT. There, he lost to NXT Champion Adam Cole.

Therefore, her was longer able to challenge fo the NXT Championship while Cole was champion. Still, that would not matter as he stopped appearing on TV.

The Velveteen Dream was spotted backstage on the May 10 episode of RAW. He was never scheduled to appear and there is no word why he was there.

After a decent push in NXT, which saw him capture the NXT North American Championship and even challenge for their top prize, allegations changed everything.

He was accused of sending sexual pictures to minors and other claims were also made. WWE investigated and found nothing.

Although, that did not stop fans. When ever The Velveteen Dream appeared on TV, he would trend on social media.

Basically, fans called for his removal from WWE.

Dream signed with WWE in October 2015. Prior, he was a participant in Tough Enough season six.
