Will Ronda Rousey Win Gold At SummerSlam?

The match between Ronda Rousey and Alexa Bliss could have serious repercussions for both athletes, so it is no surprise there is a lot of speculation going around regarding the outcome of the match. But what do our experts say? Let’s find out!

I have high expectations for both Alexa Bliss and Ronda Rousey. Alexa is bound to bring her larger than life personality, which will be complemented by Ronda’s fighting spirit.

Rousey has shown amazing promise since her WrestleMania debut, so she set the bar incredibly high for herself for future events. Summerslam is also one of the big four, so she will be expected to perform at a high level.

But who will win the match? If it stays as a one-on-one between Alexa and Ronda Rousey, then Rousey will take the win. The WWE is booking her strong, so a title run is the natural progression.

That being said, there could be some interference from Mickie James. Despite this, I believe Ronda will overcome the odds this time and take the title from Bliss.

I had an idea for what this match was going to be; Natalya was going to cost her friend Ronda the match, leading to them working a program over the next few months. However, the death of Natalya’s father puts that plan in doubt. Now, I believe Ronda is going to win and hold the title until WrestleMania. Coinciding with Charlotte’s SmackDown victory will set the two on a collision course for the first ever women’s main event of WrestleMania.

Or perhaps a returning Nia Jax distracts Ronda, bitter that she took her title shot away and almost beat her for the title at Money In The Bank. This is the semi-main and probably should be the main event, especially if the plan is for Ronda to win. I’ll bet my money on one certainty; Ronda is not getting pinned clean. She won’t now or ever lose a match cleanly. She is too valuable right now as an unbeatable force. Any woman that is regularly destroying men and women is in a position to be protected. Another prediction, Rousey will compete for and win a men’s title in the next three years.

I’m going to be honest: this match a lose-lose for me. Don’t get me wrong – I’m looking forward to it and I think it will be an entertaining match. But while I’m ready for someone other than Alexa Bliss to be Raw Women’s Champion, I’m not ready for Ronda Rousey to be champion.

But she more than likely will be.

WWE has been pushing Rousey to the moon, and what better way to capitalize on that than by making her champion at SummerSlam in Madison Square Garden? And I do mean capitalize: Rousey is an ATM, and she’ll print WWE oodles of money once they slap a title on her. So here’s hoping she doesn’t become another Brock Lesnar.

What we can know for sure: Ronda Rousey will not get pinned clean at SummerSlam. What we don’t know: Just about everything else.

Many speculated that Natalya might turn on her dear friend Rousey at SummerSlam to cost her the match, but that is very doubtful now given the recent passing of her father, WWE legend Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.

Alexa Bliss has been great as champion and as one of the top heels WWE has at the moment. WWE loses nothing in keeping the belt on her, or in having the super-over babyface Rousey continuing to chase the title. While I would be ecstatic to see a dual Rousey- Charlotte Flair win at SummerSlam to set up a feud between those two at WrestleMania, I’m going to go with Bliss getting the win.
