A disturbing report from The Wall Street Journal details a trafficking lawsuit, which named Vince McMahon, and now TKO has responded.
TKO Issues Statement Over Vince McMahon Trafficking Lawsuit
Vince McMahon retired from WWE in the summer of 2022. He did not leave happy as he was seemingly pushed out of power after stories surfaced.
Basically, he was caught paying women to not speak about certain acts he performed. The retirement did not last.
By January, he managed to get back on the board of directors. This time, he made it clear that selling WWE was going to happen.
Within a few months, Endeavor Group Holdings became the new owners. They merged WWE and UFC under the same umbrella of TKO Group Holdings.
The new owners made big changes, particularly giving Triple H more power than Vince. Despite having little say, Vince McMahon continues to cause problems.
He was revealed in a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee, Janel Grant. She alleges Vince, and former WWE executive John Laurinaitis, pressured her into sexual relationships.
A wrestler is also mentioned, but named. Although, with specific details about the wrestler described, it is likely Brock Lesnar.
The lawsuit continues how Grant was sexually assaulted between 2020-2021. She signed a NDA for $3 million, but only received $1 million.
Once Vince’s past became public, the money stopped. Hence, the lawsuit filed in Connecticut Federal Court.
TKO issued the following statement.
“Mr. McMahon does not control TKO nor does he oversee the day-to-day operations of WWE. While this matter predates our TKO executive team’s tenure at the company, we take Ms. Grant’s horrific allegations very seriously and are addressing this matter internally.”
It remains to be seen how this will unfold. These are serious claims and if proven in a court of law, it could be very bad for those involved.
So, will TKO need to take actions over Vince McMahon and this trafficking lawsuit?
