Sandra’s Favorite UK Wrestlers of All Time!

Wrestling is an international business, so we regularly come across some UK wrestlers. Even though the business is swamped with US wrestlers, we are lucky to experience a true UK talent every once so often. So, to celebrate the diversity of wrestling, let’s examine my favorite UK Wrestlers of all time. How does it compare to yours?

1. Paige

Even though Paige may be persona non grata at the WWE, she is still my favorite UK wrestler of all time. It is rare for a female wrestler to be on top of a list like this, but I honestly think she deserves the spot.

When it comes to wrestling ability and talent, Paige has loads of it. She’s going through some issues at the moment mainly due to her hubby Alberto Del Rio. But, I still believe she has an amazing future ahead of her and could become one of the greatest female wrestlers in history. Either way, I hope to see the PTO on WWE Television again.

2. Bad News Barrett

Even though Bad News Barrett has left the WWE wrestling business, he is still on my list of favorite UK wrestlers of all time. The whole bad news gimmick really worked for me and he was certainly over with the UK crowd.

While unlikely that Bad News Barrett will return to a WWE ring in the future, I’m still silently hoping that we can receive some “Bad News” or a “Bullhammer” somewhere down the line.

3. William Regal

William Regal is honestly one of the funniest British people to ever set foot in a WWE wrestling ring (Jack Gallagher not included). He build a legendary career for himself and still plays a major role in NXT, the developmental part of the WWE.

4. Jack Gallagher

Jack Gallagher may be limited to 205 Live, and has not been with the WWE for that long, but let’s face it, the man is hilarious! Gentleman Jack Gallagher is the most original and funniest wrestler to come along in a long time, so I hope to see a lot more of him in the future! Not many wrestlers can translate humor in the ring, but Jack certainly can!

5. Neville

Neville was in danger of getting lost in the mix until he got injured and returned with a wonderful new heel gimmick at 205 Live. The darker Neville seems to have more of a connection with the universe than face Neville. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do in the future.

6. British Bulldog

The British Bulldog may be a little higher on most people’s lists, but his gimmick did not resound with me as much as some of the others that ranked higher on my list. That being said, the British Bulldog is certainly one of the greatest British wrestlers to step foot in a WWE ring!

Unfortunately, the British Bulldog is also someone who died before his time. There has been a long track record of wrestlers with heart problems, which included the British Bulldog. He died in 2002 of a heart attack while on vacation in British Columbia. An autopsy revealed that the use of anabolic steroids could have played a part in his death.
