A pair of RAW’s top stars are currently dealing injuries as Seth Rollins and Sasha Banks did not work this weekend’s live events. Despite being hurt, they should be back shortly; with Banks hopefully working tonight’s Monday Night RAW.
Post Wrestling states that Banks suffered unknown injury during her tough battle against Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble. The injury does not appear to be severe as she is supposed to team with Bayley against Nikki Cross & Alicia Fox in a qualifying match for the Women’s Tag Team Elimination Chamber Match later this month. Originally, the match was to take place last week but it was postponed due to the injury.
Rollins walked into last week’s RAW also injured. There is no word if he will appear during tonight’s RAW after taking six F5s from Brock Lesnar. Even if the number one contender skips tonight’s show and returns next week, word is Rollins will need about a month to recover; with some saying a little longer. He could appear on TV in the coming weeks in a nonphysical role; mostly cutting promos on Lesnar.
Since Lesnar only shows up at handful of RAWs, this would benefit Rollins. WWE can have Rollins get over without having to take any bumps from the powerhouse Lesnar. There is a chance Paul Heyman could appear on behalf of Lesnar and take a quick bump. We are still waiting to hear exactly when and how Rollins got hurt.
Injuries this time of the year are never good, especially considering how both superstars are set for major storylines heading into WrestleMania 35. Banks & Bayley are heavy favorites to win the Women Tag Team Championships and then face WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus & Lita at WrestleMania 35. Rollins already confirmed he is facing Lesnar for Universal Championship at the April 7 show from New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
