Mauro Ranallo – Wrestling Future, AEW Unable To Sign 3 Top Names

Mauro Ranallo Wrestling Future

Mauro Ranallo is no longer with WWE, but a wrestling future might still be on the table down the road. Also, AEW was unsuccessful in signing three big names for their Dynamite debut.

Mauro Ranallo – Wrestling Future

After SummerSlam, WWE and Mauro Ranallo decided to part wats. For now, Ranallo is looking at adventures outside of the wrestling business.

Ranallo has been very open about being diagnosed with bipolar. Although, it has caused him to miss events last minute and be off TV for weeks during those darks times.

While speaking to Post Wrestling, Ranallo admitted the stress in WWE became too much. But, he is open to retuning and also working for AEW down the road.

“I’m not interested in going back to that kind of rigorous schedule [with WWE],” said Ranallo. “For now, I want to explore other options, do more voiceover work, and maybe host a game show if I can and do the Maurologues.”

“In the last decade or so of my career, just do something I’ve really wanted to do all my life and branch out. I’m a performer and broadcaster – I wanna do different things.”

Life After WWE

Ranallo spoke about possibly starting a radio show and being a mental health advocate.

“I love what I do in combat sports and I can’t believe that I continue to do these historic, monumental things. But, I’m eternally grateful and I have nothing but respect for people like you, and what you’ve meant to my career and your support. Like I say – chemistry.”

“We worked very well together and there’s a reason for that. We respected each other, and that’s all I ask for in the arena that I’m in.”

WWE signed Ranallo and he worked on the main roster before having trouble individuals like JBL and Corey Graves. Eventually, he was moved to NXT where there would be less people to cause problems for Ranallo.

Since leaving WWE, Ranallo has remained busy. He recently called the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. exhibition match last month. As for AEW, their broadcast team is already full, but Ranallo could work sporadically as a special attraction.

“I’m just grateful there’s that many more paying opportunities for the workers. So, never say never.”

AEW Unable To Sign 3 Top Names

AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, And Karl Anderson

Over the past year, AEW has mostly won the battle against NXT. They typically get higher viewership and the same goes for the key demographic.

When putting together the first episode of AEW Dynamite, the company wanted to go a different way.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented how the debut episode was going to look much different. Originally, AEW hoped to sign The Good Brother (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) and AJ Styles.

In the end, The Good Brother signed with Impact Wrestling and Styles re-signed with WWE. With AEW and Impact Wrestling having a deal in place, we may likely see The Good Brothers appear on TNT.

As for Styles, he signed a new WWE deal several years ago shortly before WrestleMania 36. He expressed that the most recent contract will be the last of his wrestling career.

Before all three worked together in WWE, they made a names for themselves in Japan. Along with a trio of familiar names, they were part of the Bullet Club.
