During a recent interview, tag team legend Matt Hardy revealed who would be on his Mount Rushmore of tag wrestling, and surprisingly he did not add the Hardy Boyz to the list.

Matt and Jeff Hardy created a legendary legacy in professional wrestling by breaking ground as a tag team. Their death-defying leaps off ladders and high-risk moves in gimmick matches helped to make them one of the most popular tag teams that WWE has ever had.

The duo began their career as a team and are likely to finish as a duo despite having successful singles careers because they are forever linked with the division. No one knows more about tag team wrestling than the Hardys, and that is why Matt was recently asked during a chat with wrestling interviewer Denise Salcedo about who would be on his Mount Rushmore of tag wrestling. And surprisingly, he left him and his brother off the list.

Matt Hardy puts the Dudley Boyz and Young Bucks on his tag team Mount Rushmore

“The first team that pops to mind is the Road Warriors,” Hardy began by saying. “Those guys stand out because they were great. Love the Road Warriors. Rock ‘n’ Roll Express; I was a big fan of those guys as well. It’s hard not to put the Dudleys on there just because they really are, probably, the most decorated tag team champions of all time.

“There’s a lot of great tag teams. Some people would stick [the Hardy Boyz] on there but I’m not going to necessarily go with us right now, he said with a smile. “I would also say the Bucks. I’m a big fan of the Bucks. I think the Bucks are going to end up being one of the greatest tag teams of all time too.”

All of Hardy’s choices make sense and the Road Warriors and Rock ‘n’ Roll Express are on many lists of the best tag teams of all time. The Dudleys have won the WWE, WCW, ECW, and TNA tag titles during their careers, and the Young Bucks have had a huge influence on the wrestling industry. And they have been stars in every promotion they’ve been in, including AEW, NJPW, and ROH.
