Kevin Owens Out Indefinitely, Reason Lashley Is A Heel, Lio Rush Note

Kevin Owens Out Indefinitely
Has anybody had a better start to their main roster career than Kevin Owens? After losing his NXT Championship at "Beast in the East," Owens will look to gain the U.S. Championship over John Cena. Another clean victory over Cena will skyrocket him to new heights and could be the start to a long title defense as the U.S. Champion.

‘- Kevin Owens will undergo knee surgery and be out for the foreseeable future. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Owens will miss anywhere from four to six months of action. Doctors will have a better idea of how much time Owens will miss once they open up his knee.

On RAW, Bobby Lashley went after Owens’ knees; which was done to write him off TV. The injury is nothing new as the former Universal Champion has been dealing with the problem for some time. Since joining WWE in 2014, Owens has avoided missing any in-ring time while still taking major bumps.

If WWE was going to write Owens out of storylines, they should have kept the short-lived angle where he quit. Instead, WWE had Owens return a week later; causing his storyline departure to be criticized.

– Speaking of Bobby Lashley, the angle where he hurt Kevin Owens on Monday’s RAW was done to turn him heel. WWE made the call earlier in the day to turn Lashley into a heel. There was a major discussion if the turn should happen, but with WWE losing a top heel on RAW in Owens, they had little choice.

In recent weeks, Lio Rush has become the mouthpiece for Lashley. During Lashley vs. Owens, Rush was wearing an earpiece that went directly to Vince McMahon. It was McMahon who was feeding Rush the lines to say during the RAW match.

After working with the likes of Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman (even scoring a rare and clean pin over Reigns), Lashley was basically missing from any major angles in recent months. He did not appear on several of the recent pay per views and a change was needed as WWE still sees the former ECW Champion as a major star. In Impact Wrestling, Lashley found his most success as a heel so hopefully that trend continues in WWE.
