‘- We already know that Kenny Omega is leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and his future seemed like either WWE or the new All Elite Wresting (AEW) promotion. During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned how Omega is expected to sign with his friends at AEW. Since he will still be under contract to NJPW until January 31, the announcement can’t be made unil February 1.
On the show, Meltzer noted how NJPW were not happy to learn Omega was leaving from an interview. He also joins KUSHIDA, who is expected to join WWE or AEW.
With AEW signing talent to rumored five year deals, NJPW and Ring of Honor have decided to not work with the new promotion. Of course, this could always change as all three companies have familiar talent that would deliver an exciting product.
Today at 5 PM EST, AEW holds their Double or Nothing rally in Jacksonville’s West Club at the TIAA Bank Field parking lot. More details about the first show and of the promotion should be revealed. Double or Nothing is rumored for Las Vegas sometime in the spring or early summer. SmackDown is also in the same area as the rally, so there should be a good turnout. Stay tuned as this story will develop throughout the day.
