Legendary wrestler John Cena is set to create a new Peacock series for the WWE. Cena briefly spoke about the new opportunity on his Twitter account.
John Cena Produces New WWE Series For Peacock
John Cena is officially making a return to the WWE. However, he is returning in a different capacity than what you would expect.
Cena is returning to the WWE to create a series for Peacock, a streaming division of NBCUniversal. John announced the news on his Twitter account this week.
The new series will be called WWE Evil. It will delve into the minds of the most diabolical antagonists in WWE history.
For every good guy, there has to be a bad one and @WWE has created some of the BEST bad guys (and ladies) in the history of entertainment.
Excited to highlight those who made us boo, scream, and sometimes cry!

Cena has been away from the WWE for quite some time. In fact, his last match was at WrestleMania 36 when he faced The Fiend in a Firefly Funhouse Match.
Interestingly, Cena teased a return to WWE for some time now. Actually, he had people talking by solely posting a WWE logo days ago.
Fans were quite excited about a possible return to the ring. However, it now seems Cena was hinting at the production of a new show.
In-Ring Return Seems Unlikely
An in-ring return for John Cena is unlikely in the nearby future. The reason is because of his busy Hollywood schedule.
This year, John Cena will appear in two major movies. After all, he managed to land a role in The Suicide Squad as well as Fast and Furious 9.
And there is more good news for Cena. In fact, a Peacemaker (played by John Cena) anti-hero spin-off is in the works for HBO Max.
With so much work in Hollywood, wrestling is probably off the table. Nevertheless, John is returning, only as a producer for the company.
John has always been a company man. When you look at his career over the years, it is clear Vince McMahon saw him as his main guy.
Cena has been quite successful outside of the WWE as well. Everyone is aware that Cena is a hard worker with lots of ambition.
Future Feud?
John Cena may have stepped away from the wrestling ring, but it hasn’t stopped people from calling him out. In fact, one wrestlers is showing a particular interest in Cena.
Popular NXT wrestler Karrion Kross called out John Cena on several occasions. In fact, he has stated he wants to permanently retire Cena.
While speaking to BT Sport, Kross said he would be honored to face John Cena. He also mentioned why he chose Cena over other legendary wrestlers.
“I think John Cena would probably be the match that I would most likely be interested in for the immediate future. Everybody has already called out The Rock. Everyone already called out Brock Lesnar. Everyone has exercised interest in seeing Scarlett and I versus The Fiend and Alexa Bliss. But I think having the opportunity to work with John Cena on a really big stage, hopefully with people, would be awesome, and I think it’s two different generations meeting. I attribute a lot of my modern-day inspiration to his generation.”
It would certainly be an interesting one to watch! And, so will WWE Evil.
