There is interest in signing The IIconics, but they might not have the same idea. Also, why has Asuka been off WWE TV?
Interest In The IIconics
It has been a rough year for many at WWE. They have been letting people go left and right.
During one of their massive cuts, WWE lost two female superstars with history. The IIconics were just two of the many superstars to part with the company.
That happened back in April and the two have kept a low profile ever since. Now, there are reports Billie Kay (Jessica McKay) and Peyton Royce (Cassie Lee) are preparing for their return.
Fightful Select reports that Impact Wrestling did show interest in the duo. Although, it seems no contracts will be offered.
So, that would leave AEW and the NWA as the other major options. No word if they are heading to either of those promotions.
For the most part, Billie and Peyton were always together in WWE. They were a team in NXT and that carried over to the main roster.
During that run, they even won the Women’s Tag Team Championship. To make the prize even better, it happened at WrestleMania 35.
Then, in 2020, WWE decided to break them up as part of the latest draft. Neither found any success as singles competitors and they were released before given much of a chance.
As for the future, they have trademarked “The IInspiration” and hinted at working together again. The 90 day non-compete clause is up and both can wrestle anywhere.
The two are hilarious together and they can elevate women’s tag team wrestling for any promotion. Now, it is just a matter of where they sign.
Why Has Asuka Been Off TV?
While WWE has been trimming the women’s division with all their cuts, a select few are still there. One of those names includes Asuka, who been absent from TV for over a month.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is nothing wrong with Asuka. Instead, creative simply has nothing for her.
“For those asking about Asuka, she is fine,” the report stated. “She’s just not being used for anything right now.”
“She was at the Raw tapings early but left early since she wasn’t being used.”

With WWE preparing for SummerSlam and being back on the road again, they have lots to handle. Hopefully, they have something for her starting next week.
There is no denying Asuka is one of the favorites with fans. Heel or face, she gets a good reaction from the audience.
Now, her main roster run has not been as successful as her undefeated streak in NXT. Still, “The Empress of Tomorrow” has won several titles along the way to already make for an impressive career.
Her last major program saw her drop the RAW Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley on night two of WrestleMania 37. Then, she shifted her attention to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match; where she was unable to capture the briefcase.
