Face Turn Rumored For Top SmackDown Star, EC3’s NXT Future

Face Turn Rumored For Top SmackDown Star

‘- Following Tuesday’s SmackDown, there was a dark match between WWE Champion Daniel Bryan and The Miz. Unlike most of their previous encounters, The Miz received the face reaction. So after a lengthy run with WWE as a heel, there could be a drastic change coming for The Miz. During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said the rumors he heard for months are true and The Miz is headed for a face run.

Since Crown Jewel, there has been lots of speculation about turning Shane McMahon heel after he won the World Cup. An original WrestleMania 35 plan was for a heel Shane to take on Bryan. With Bryan winning the title earlier in the month and turning heel in the process, those plans were scrapped.

Now, some are thinking that Shane and The Miz will battle at WrestleMania in April. The Miz has always been an entertaining heel, so it will be interesting to see if his popularity grows once he turns into a fledged face.

– When EC3’s contract ended with Impact Wrestling, he rejoined WWE as many speculated. But, the impression was he would join the main roster. EC3 instead head to NXT and has really struggled to score several wins and usually loses his short programs.

Mike Johnson at PWInsier Elite, he speculated that a concussion at Takeover Brooklyn IV temporally changed plans. At the show, The Velveteen Dream got the better of EC3.

“I’m under the impression that had he not gotten the concussion SummerSlam weekend, he probably would have been brought up right around SummerSlam time,” said Johnson. “Now they’ve gotta wait until they figure out a spot for him. That’s kinda the impression I got.”

In a recent NXT interview, EC3 told fans he would return this Wednesday as a new person. The slight change could be what EC3 needs to finally get the call to RAW or SmackDown.
