Dear WWE Creative,
Monday Night RAW was all about the heel turn, with a tease from Dean Ambrose, some dissention in the ranks between Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, and Braun Strowman, and bonefide heel status for the Bella Twins and of course, Bobby Lashley.

The WWE Universe was expecting the Bellas to turn on Ronda Rousey, thanks to reports indicating that she is slated to main event WWE’s first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view (PPV) Evolution with the Baddest Woman on the Planet; however, it was still great to see. Having said that, Bobby Lashley’s turn came out of nowhere and was completely shocking. Something that the fans didn’t expect to see at all.

While Lashley’s return to the WWE was explosive at first, it quickly fizzled. He never got the opportunity to lock up with Brock Lesnar, his storyline with Roman Reigns was far too short and underwhelming, and his other programs have simply lacked luster. While he’s not the best talker in the business, his look, size, and athleticism has superstar written all over it. Bobby seems like a very decent human being outside that squared circle, and most times, the nicest of guys make the best heels.
It was time for a change.

In fact, this heel turn not only comes at the best time, but it may also be exactly what Lashley needs in order to truly rise to the top. Timely, because he and mouthpiece Lio Rush have just partnered up and are exposed to the WWE Universe as a solid team; the storyline simply makes sense. Rush is not only a solid voice for Lashley’s lack of mic skills, but also can borderline annoying the way a perfect heel manager should. Therefore, Rush’s influence on Lashley to play for team bad guys just makes sense.
The WWE fans may need a few more episodes of Monday Night RAW under their belts with Bobbly Lashley as a heel before a true judgement can be made either way on whether this was a good move or not. With that said, Monday’s heel turn offered shock value, created buzz on social media, and offers Lashley a new way to re-invent himself and the opportunity to clean his character slate.
#RAW was good this week! Loved the Angle return. Always good to see Trish and Lita. And I’m a huge fan of the Bellas and Bobby Lashley heel turns. Absolutely not a fan of the six man main event story STILL going…
Also, Riott Squad continue to smash it.

A heel was born on Monday night, amongst a solid and entertaining RAW. Here’s hoping that Bobby can take this ball and run with it, for it would be a shame if his return to the WWE ended up being a complete and utter waste of time, heel turn and all; not only for Lashley, but his fans as well.
Signed,
Me.
