The Rockers were one of the most popular tag teams of their era. After they broke up, Shawn Michaels went on to do some legendary stuff, and Marty Jannetty continued to wrestle with the company as a mid-card talent. At the moment, there is concern over Jannetty and his health.
Concern Over Marty Jannetty
Marty Jannetty has done some incredible things in the ring during his heyday. Over the years, he may have slowed down with wrestling, but has remained a constant figure on social media.
In fact, he’s an active poster, especially on Facebook. Some of his commentary on these platforms can raise an eyebrow at times.
With that said, there’s some concern over Marty, as he’s been absent on Facebook. In fact, his last post was on January 2nd of this year.
Prior to that, Jannetty was MIA on social media for most of December 2021. As this is not like Marty, some fans have posted on his timeline inquiring if he’s okay.
Concern Over Marty Jannetty, Addressed
Yesterday, Mike Waterford, a friend of Marty’s, commented on a fan’s FB inquiry and confirmed that Jannetty was dealing with some health issues. He is said to be in Columbus, Georgia, where doctors are trying to diagnose a number of worrisome symptoms.
Waterford added that Marty has refused to go to the hospital. He’s dealing with back and shoulder problems, as well as swollen feet.
Mike notes that Jannetty is waiting for the doctor to offer more information on why he’s dealing with many issues right now. On behalf of everyone here at WNZ, we hope Marty gets the answers he needs and recovers swiftly.
Marty Jannetty was with the WWE, on-and-off, from 1984 to 1998. He also had a run from 2005 to 2009.
During his tenure with the company, he became Intercontinental Champion and held the tag titles with the 1-2-3 Kid. However, he’s best known for his time with Michaels as the Rockers, and their infamous “breakup” during The Barber Shop Segment in 1992.
Over to the WWE, a trusted 29-year employee of the company has been let go. More information on this is below.
WWE Releases 29-Year Veteran
Carlos Cabrera has served the WWE commentary team for close to three decades now. Since the early 1990s, he’s worked as a Spanish announcer.
North American fans are familiar to Carlos, too. He’s been seen at times on WWE television and pay-per-views (PPVs) when the company introduces international broadcast teams.
Sadly, there have been a number of cutbacks in the WWE, as of late. From backstage staff to NXTers, wrestlers, writers, and executives.
Unfortunately, Carlos Cabrera might be the latest victim of budget cutbacks. The news broke this morning via Lucha Libre Online’s Hugo Savinovich’s Instagram.
A press release has also confirmed this news. No reason was offered around why Cabrera was released.
Carlos Cabrera’s History With The WWE
Cabrera was the WWE’s voice for Spanish-speaking territory fans. For many, he is the only one they’ve ever heard when it comes to WWE programming.
Carlos has been seen on Monday Night RAW, SmackDown, and NXT on occasion. Not to mention, PPVs and high-level WWE events.
Interestingly enough, Carlos has worked every WrestleMania since WM 10. Cabrera will undeniably be missed during WM 38 festivities this year.
