With rumors swirling, it seems Bret Hart gets himself a new deal…but where? And, in some interesting news, Scott Steiner grows up, apparently.
Bret Hart Gets New Deal
In somewhat unexpected news, it seems we get to discuss…Bret Hart gets a new deal.
Yes, seriously.
Now, over recent weeks, rumors were swirling that the WWE Hall of Famer was going to be doing some new work with wrestling.
FTR, now in AEW, have been dropping hints about Hart for some time, too.
After they axed their former manager, it seemed obvious….
That, however, is on hold. Hart gets a new deal, apparently…but it is not with AEW…and his new deal will not allow you to see him there, either.
Hart’s new deal will not, however, prevent him from working as their manager for an upcoming indie date in New England.
According to Wrestling Observer, while nothing has been announced, there is belief that Hart got himself a lucrative new deal from WWE.
And, said new deal with WWE, if it has indeed been signed…prohibits him from showing up in AEW.
So as much as anyone might have popped for Bret Hart managing FTR in AEW…the only way we will see Hart and FTR any time soon?
That would require FTR to return to WWE. While the company is said to be interested, it seems like it won’t happen this year-if at all.
On one hand, that Hart gets himself a new deal is surprising.
However, on the other, it is not.
Surprising because he’s basically only a manager type at this point…so if he did show up in AEW, would it be that bad?
Not surprising, because he is one of the bigger WWE Superstars, and if Vince didn’t want him showing up in AEW again, a lucrative Legends contract is a good way to do it.
On the flip side, Bret Hart wasn’t slated to be involved with AEW’s Owen Hart Tournament. That event is near and dear to Owen’s widow, Martha.
Martha and Bret don’t have the best of relationships, and that was not likely to thaw out anytime soon and in AEW no less.
Scott Steiner Grows Up
Here’s another bit of news…apparently, Scott Steiner grows up this year.
Yes, it’s true.
OK, in fairness, he’s been evolving.
Steiner has been known to be a bit volatile. His missteps over his career are pretty well documented.
Up until he showed up for his Hall of Fame induction, there was some doubt he’d participate.
Even right before he hit the stage, his nephew Bronson joked that giving his uncle a hot mic on a live feed could be bad for his own career.
But…it seems Scott Steiner has grown up and turned over a new leaf.
And, at least some of it might be to help out that nephew…better known as Bron Breakker.
Steiner had been outspoken about many things, one of which was Triple H and how he got ahead.
But, Scott Steiner recently spoke with the Detroit News, and acknowledged he has grown up.
