Remember, the action inside a pro wrestling ring should be left to the professionals. Still, they are not immune from accidents.

The January 12 edition of SmackDown saw Austin Theory wrestle Carmela Hayes. There was no winner because of a mishap on the top rope.

It looked like Theory was going for the Spanish Fly, which he has done a bunch, but both men landed on their heads. Therefore, the referee stopped the match as both needed medical treatment.

Basically, Hayes left with no major injury while Theory suffered a concussion. The landing was so scary, this could have been much worse.

In a recent interview with The West Australian, Theory went over the importance of safety and then retires the move.

“Something goes wrong and it doesn’t feel right and then seeing the video footage back and myself upset down, literally on the top of my head,” said Theory. “Wow, like very grateful for that and that move is retired for Austin Theory.”

It is for the best to retire that move. Wrestlers have a bad habit of trying to hit insane spots all the time.

The problem is they take these moves too far. I miss the simpler days, when you did not have to worry about a wrestler risking their life for a spot.

Currently, Theory has been working with Grayson Waller as a heel duo on SmackDown. Clearly, WWE sees both superstars as potential main event wrestlers down the road.

They should play an important role at Elimination Chamber.

So, is everyone happy that Austin Theory decided to retire the move?
