You never know what can happen in pro wrestling as the unthinkable become reality. Examples are The Undertaker’s WrestleMania steak ending, CM Punk returning to WWE after a decade and the Montreal Screwjob. All those moments helped shape WWE into what it is today. And, we could be witnessing something very intersting taking place in AEW
For at least a month, there have growing reports of Shane McMahon looking to work with AEW. Now, speculation will increase as Fightful confirmed Shane and Tony Khan met on July 29. It took place in an office at a private Arlington airport as both sides went over “possibilities moving forward.” From all accounts, this is the first time the two have met face-to-face. The report continued how Khan is open to working with Shane, at least for the last several weeks. It seems any other details during the meeting are being kept private.
Shane McMahon And Tony Khan Deal Actually Looks Possible
There were rumors of Shane and Vince McMahon looking to either start a new pro wrestling promotion or even buy AEW. Vince has been keeping a low-profile after being forced to resign from WWE and the TKO Board over disgusting accusations of sexual harassment, sexual assault and human trafficking. He has denied all the clams against him. If Khan does bring in Shane, I cannot see Vince joining as well. Basically, Vince is blacklisted from the business.
With the opportunity for a McMahon to appear on AEW TV, I think Khan makes an offer. Now, I wonder if Shane is looking to wrestle or take a backstage role. My guess, is he wants to wrestle and maybe have an on-air role. Last time fans saw Shane, he was injured about a minute into an impromptu match at WrestleMania 39. So, will Tony Khan be able convince Shane McMahon to sign with AEW?
