Rey Fenix Takes Shot At AEW As New Rumor Reveals Plans To Expose ‘Huge Injustice’ By The Company

Rey Fenix is no longer happy staying quiet about his drama with AEW, and there are reportedly plans to eventually expose “injustices” by the company.

Things have gotten uncomfortable recently between AEW and star luchador Rey Fenix. He and his brother Penta El Zero Miedo are arguably the greatest team in promotion history — outside of the Young Bucks. They have held tag and trios titles and been a part of some of the company’s greatest matches.

Yet, all good things come to an end. And in the summer, rumors claimed the pair were expected to leave AEW in the fall and take their talents to rivals WWE. However, as word got around, AEW CEO Tony Khan chose to go with the tactic of tacking injury time onto both men’s contracts so they could not jump ship as quickly as they expected.

Miedo’s contract had a few months added and is reportedly now done. However, Fenix suffered several major injuries during his time with AEW. And his deal was allegedly extended well into 2025. He has been quiet about the reports. However, he seemingly took a shot at the company on Monday following a major report on the situation.

Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo plan to expose ‘huge injustices’ during their time in AEW

“I received information from an AEW source on November 20 regarding the Lucha Brothers’ status. But did not report it as I was waiting for one of them to begin speaking their mind about the situation,” Sportskeeda’s
Dr. Chris Featherstone, Ph.D. wrote on X. “Here is some Intel I received:

  • The alleged excuse that Tony Khan found out about Lucha Brothers [being] in talks with WWE is ‘fake news,’ and the real reason [will be] revealed
  • There is a “real story” behind the situation with Rey Fenix, which is a “huge injustice”
  • Expect the Lucha Brothers to go more in-depth about their time in AEW when they are free and clear to do so, and “when they do, [it] is going to be ugly”

Following the report, Rey Fenix took to X and said, “Unfortunately, due to contractual issues, I cannot speak now, but I will have my time. So far the most accurate comment.” However, that wasn’t where it ended. “I needed a doctor and you ignored me for months,” he also wrote.

This has certainly escalated the situation. There was a chance AEW could bring Fenix back to television. So he could finish his deal instead of paying him to stay home in 2025. However, this likely means he will remain sidelined until his contract expires in a few months.
