In what I can only say is a classy move, Sting and Tony Khan got permission from a very important person for the stunt done on this week’s Dynamite.
Yes, I know that was a really long sentence.
For a time, Sting was famous for dropping out of, or ascending to, the rafters of arenas with regularity.
He was not the only one to do that, of course.
I was at the last WrestleMania in Philadelphia when Big Boss Man and others descended from high above the arena.

But for Sting, it was a calling card move.
And then the Owen Hart tragedy happened, and it all stopped.
Or, it mostly stopped, given the safety concerns and out of respect for Hart’s widow and family.
But on this week’s episode of Dynamite, it happened once again, perhaps for the last time.
Because, in case you’ve forgotten, Sting is wrestling one last match…pretty soon.
The stunt was not done on a whim.
Sting And Tony Khan Got Permission For Stunt
According to Fightful, Sting and Tony Khan reached out to Martha Hart.
Martha is the widow of Owen, and has been involved with AEW in the past.
The two asked Hart for permission. Knowing they have a working relationship, Khan wanted to keep things on the up and up.
Surely he did not need to, but it was a show of respect, knowing what such a stunt means to her.
Hart approved, and Sting was allowed to do it…perhaps for the final time in his illustrious career.
As you would expect from a star taking a prolonged victory lap-one he absolutely has earned-he is hitting all the popular spots.

Perhaps the only thing left to do at this point would be to go platinum blonde and bring back surfer Sting.
However he looks, however he arrives, enjoy him while you can!
