The former Sasha Banks, Mercedes Mone, looks like she’s having a ball in All Elite Wrestling. But WWE Hall of Famer and the father of her greatest rival, Ric Flair, thinks she won’t be able to resist the greener pastures and denser roster of her old company too much longer.
Based on appearances, leaving WWE was the best decision Mercedes Mone, once known as Sasha Banks (beginning in NXT), could have made. She works fewer dates for more money and is allowed to wrestle on the indies as well, where she accumulates more and more championships in record time.

However, the axiom “never say never” is virtually undefeated in her business and nobody knows that better than wrestling legend Ric Flair. The Nature Boy, who has trouble staying away from the ring and the spotlight, believes Mone won’t be able to stay away from her old stomping grounds for one major reason.
Will AEW’s thinner roster lead to Mercedes Mone’s eventual departure?

Speaking on Busted Open Radio recently, Flair says the thing about WWE that makes it a better fit for her in the long run is the depth of competition. “Right now, I do [think WWE is a better fit], yeah, because she doesn’t have that many good opponents over there [in AEW],” he said (h/t Sportskeeda)
Flair added that to be truly great, which Mone certainly thinks she is, she has to be in WWE. “Everybody’s good. To be in the business, you’ve got to be good, but to be great, that encompasses a whole different word. ‘Great’ and ‘good’—you know what I mean? And I truly believe she’ll end up over there [back in WWE],” he explained.
What Flair insinuates here is his belief that WWE is actually where the best wrestle and not AEW. Put another way, WWE, which was the only viable game in town after The Monday Night Wars ended, has inherited the mantra of “Where the Big Boys play” from its defunct rival, World Championship Wrestling.
Mone, on the other hand, may feel different and think that she achieved everything she possibly could in WWE – having main-event WrestleMania and multiple NXT TakeOvers within the span of a few years.
