Bryan Danielson entered All In and promised to retire if he lost. Instead, he won the AEW World Championship and then shifted his stance. The first person to defeat him and take his title, would be his final opponent has a full time wrestler. That all took place in August and we figured he would keep the belt until deep into the year.

Instead, Jon Moxley defeated Danielson, thus ending his in-ring days as a full time wrestler. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, reveled it was Danielson who selected Moxley for the honor. The selection and location seems fitting as it came from Washington and those two have a deep history in AEW. They battled in the beginning, before creating The Blackpool Combat Club.

About a month ago, Moxley returned after several months away. He has been rambling about taking over and times have changed. Then, Moxley attacked his now former stablemate and others joined. Basically, those Danielson called friends all turned on him. AEW babyfaces tried to help, but they were outnumbered and facing a daunting group. We do not know where this will lead with Moxley, but having the world title helps.

It is no secret, Danielson is in rough shape. He will need neck surgery this year and he is dealing with several other issues. The former WWE star has spoke about other medical problems, like losing feeling in his arms and legs. Honestly, he was lucky to be cleared after WWE doctors once forced him to retire. So, was Jon Moxley the right person to topple Bryan Danielson?
