When it comes to longevity in pro wrestling, names like The Undertaker and John Cena standout. Others, such as Ric Flair and Jerry Lawler, have retired countless times; only, to keep returning. In a month, Chris Jericho turns 54 years old. Most high-profile wrestlers are done by 50. Although, Jericho showed no signs of slowing-down. He joined AEW from day one and received huge praise in the beginning. Then, his physique was gone, the gimmicks got cheesy and there was the whole Kylie Rae thing.

After all that, fans are hoping for Jericho to retire with his contract up in October 2025. On Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho spoke about signing a new contract in 2025.  “I’m about ready to go into my biggest contract year ever,” said Jericho. “That’s one of the things I laugh about when people are like, ‘Jericho just has to be on TV.’ I don’t have to do anything. My boss puts me on TV because he pays me money to be there. To know that much money is at stake 25 years after the Attitude Era, it blows my mind.”

Chris Jericho Lost Many Fans The Last Year

The latest several months has seen Jericho heading, The Learning Tree. In fact, we are seeing a trend of Jericho forming several stables, where they either turn on him at the end or the other way around. Fans despised The Learning Tree in the beginning for it being so corny. Eventually, some have accepted that aspect and the group is not getting booed as much because the gimmick is subpar at best.

It will be intersting to see what Jericho decides. He cannot wrestle at the same level for much longer. If he signs any three year contract, that should be his final one. Considering what he accomplished in WWE during his several runs, he is first round WWE Hall of Famer upon retirement. So, will Chris Jericho sign a new contract in 2025 for AEW, WWE or somewhere else?
