More: Could WWE Have Eyes For Ricky Starks?

If you are a fan of AEW, and you watch with regularity, then you are well aware of how good Ricky Starks can be. And, if you are indeed a regular viewer, you know by now that it’s been a couple of months since Starks was last seen on AEW programming. Specifically, Starks and tag partner Big Bill worked a match against Top Flight. The finish did not go as planned, with Starks seeming to have sustained a head injury. The match was wrapped up early (shocking to some in AEW). Starks himself told fans later via social media that he was fine, things just were stopped to be careful.

Where is Ricky?

But, we have not seen him since that has happened. So is Ricky Starks injured, or what is going on? Per Starks himself via WhatCulture, he is not injured. He said he is fine, but he is frustrated with the lack of use. During the interview, he was asked about future plans for him in AEW, and he said he was not sure when he’d be back. But, as you’d expect, he noted that it sucks not being on any AEW television at the moment. Of course, if AEW did have big plans for him, I am not so sure that he would be giving a big interview and telegraphing their plans.

On the surface, this seems like a case of odd decision making. Starks can work with the best in the company. Not using him in any program is puzzling, especially if he really is not injured. While there’s no substance to this next part, I do have to wonder. Could Tony Khan be a little ticked off that Starks and Cody Rhodes are friends? Like, that Starks was even in Philly for WrestleMania 40?

Is the AEW boss concerned about the multitude of rumors linking Starks to WWE once his AEW deal comes to an end? While that seems unlikely and unwise, I still wouldn’t put it past Tony Khan. It could get interesting is if AEW tries to tack on time to the current deal due to this downtime. If the company claims Starks is injured, but the star denies it? That could make for an interesting plot twist. AEW favorite Ricky Starks may be missing, but he is not forgotten.
