Conor McGregor has again apologized to his legion of fans for letting them down this month and again has not given them any clue on when he will make his return to the UFC Octagon.
The former two-division champion has not competed in the UFC in nearly three years. That was scheduled to come to an end on June 29 when “Notorious” was finally going to face lightweight star Michael Chandler in a bout that was originally booked last year.

However, rumblings of a potential cancellation began to swirl when the company unexpectedly canceled a massive press conference in Ireland that was expected to draw 10,000 fans. While follow-up reports claimed the bout was still set to go forward, that all changed late last week when the company revealed a new main event for UFC 303.
Now Alex Pereira will defend his 205-pound title against former foe, and champion, Jiri Prochazka in the headliner of the June 29 pay-per-view event. Reports have stated the UFC is looking for a new date for McGregor vs. Chandler, and nights in August or September. Well, the MMA megastar has made his first public comments on the bout postponement and he added no clarity as to when he will return.

“Very tough to be ruled out of my scheduled return bout. I picked up an injury prior to the press conference that required more time to heal than was available to me. The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but one made in consultation with my doctors, the UFC, and my team. My fans and opponent deserve me at my best for this fight and we will get there! Thank you for the messages of support, I am in good spirits and confident I’ll be back.”

The only positives are that Conor McGregor confirmed a postponement and it seems that Michael Chandler will still be his opponent at some point later this year.
