Don’t expect Conor McGregor to be inviting fellow Irish fighter Paul Hughes over for fun on his yacht anytime soon. The former UFC champion took aim at Hughes after the recent PFL event.
Hughes, who fell to Usman Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title. While “Notorious” stated initially that he felt Hughes won, it’s possible that all changed with a simple interaction.

Following the hard-fought bout, Hughes and Khabib Nurmagomedov gathered with one another inside the cage. Khabib, of course, is long-considered one of the top rivals to McGregor.
Hughes was caught on camera telling Nurmagomedov that “I’m not like this other guy,” in regards to McGregor. He added “I’m my own man.” Of course, McGregor took exception to that.
“Too right, you’re not,” McGregor posted on social media (thanks to MMA Fighting for getting the posts before they were deleted). “Get that flag off you you little know what you are (expletive) from up there.”
Hughes responded, admitting that he “always said you were the GOAT.” But things have definitely changed now.
“But coming at my Irish identity just shows where your head is at,” Hughes posted.
Sinead Kavanagh defended McGregor, calling Hughes a “turncoat.” It also didn’t take Khabib Nurmagomedov long to take a shot at McGregor.
“You are a real Irishman,” he posted. “Not a rapist and drug addict like his bastard.”
