With Dana White, TKO and Turki Alalshikh announcing plans to begin a boxing promotion, what could be the first super-fight they land? How about the much-hyped contest between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford?
Knowing White and Alalshikh, they are definitely going to want to make a splash. And according to Ariel Helwani, that dive into the deep end of the boxing pool could be putting Alvarez and Crawford together on Netflix.

“Remember what (TKO Group Holdings COO Mark Shapiro) said on a call last week,” Helwani said (thanks to Sports Illustrated for the quotes). “We’re also going to be doing super-fights. Two this year, two next year. Massive fights.”
White has already said that the formation of the boxing promotion is for a place where “the best fight the best.”
“You work your way up the rankings,” White said. “You don’t need three letters in front of the belt. Whoever has the belt is the best in the world in that weight class. It’s a very simple model.”
Crawford improved to 41-0 with a decision over Israil Madrimov in August. That night, he left the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles with both the WBA and WBO interim light middleweight championships.
Alvarez scored his 62nd career win against two losses and two draws in September with a victory vs. Edgar Berlanga. He retained the WBA, WBO, WBO and The Ring super middleweight belts with his performance.

“Don’t be surprised if the first super-fight under TKO is Canelo vs. Crawford,” Helwani said, “and don’t be surprised if that is on a platform like Netflix. Don’t be surprised that this new league comes in and replaces Top Rank on ESPN.”
Netflix, of course, dove into the live sports world with Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul last year. While the fight had issues in terms of the stream going down, it was widely viewed around the globe.
The streaming service also aired live NFL games during Christmas and has added Raw from WWE.
