After Mercedes Mone claimed in a new interview that she is “the greatest women’s wrestler of all time,” X — formerly Twitter — had a field day dropping its mean-hearted thoughts on the bold proclamation.

Mercedes Mone, formerly Sasha Banks in WWE, is one of the biggest female wrestling stars of the last decade. After a memorable run in NXT, she has had legendary feuds on the main roster and broke barriers when she was one of the first African-American women to main event at Wrestlemania. It is why she landed a huge contract from AEW earlier this year.

However, her short run in the company has done nothing to boost ticket sales and television ratings for AEW’s product. It also doesn’t help that a lingering injury from last year has kept her out of the ring since making her debut in March. However, she is finally set to make her AEW wrestling debut this weekend at Double or Nothing in a TBS title match.

In a Thursday interview with The Ringer, Mone explained her goals for her time in AEW and confidently proclaimed her confidence about what she brings to the table for the promotion.

“They haven’t really got to see the CEO,” Mercedes said. “They know who Sasha Banks is, but the CEO, Mercedes Moné, [is] something they’ve never seen before, and I’m ready to show them. I’m the greatest women’s wrestler of all time, 100 percent.”
