Ryan Garcia’s camp has made a major announcement that could play a huge role in clearing his name in allegations of steroid use after both drug samples from his April win tested positive for Ostarine.
On April 20, Ryan Garcia stepped in the ring with pound-for-pound boxer Devin Haney as a big underdog. However, despite some very erratic pre-fight behavior and facing the most skilled fighter of his career, “King Ry” stunned the boxing world and scored a majority decision win after knocking the WBC champion down three times.

But Garcia did not get to bask in his monumental win for very long when early in May it was revealed that he had tested positive for banned substances in his post-fight drug test sample. An Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) test would clear him of one of the substances, however, when his B-sample was tested it still showed traces of Ostarine.
From the beginning, Garcia and his camp have claimed innocence, and that the likely culprit was tainted supplements. Well, the 25-year-old boxer now claims he has evidence he was the victim of “supplement contamination.”
Ryan Garcia to have a press conference next week to talk about contaminated supplements
“The test results from samples of two supplements declared by Ryan Garcia on VADA Doping Control Forms, signed on April 19th and 20th, have returned positive for Ostarine contamination. This confirms what we have consistently maintained: Ryan was a victim of supplement contamination and has never intentionally used any banned or performance-enhancing substances. Any claims to the contrary, questioning Ryan’s integrity as a clean fighter, are unequivocally false and defamatory.
“Throughout his career, Ryan has voluntarily submitted to numerous tests, all of which have returned negative results, underscoring his commitment to fair and clean competition. Additionally, multiple negative tests leading up to his fight against Haney further affirm his clean record. The ultra-low levels of Ostarine detected in his samples, in the billionth of a gram range, along with his clean hair sample proves contamination rather than intentional ingestion. The recent test results reiterate this.”

The statement also revealed that Garica and his camp will have a press conference next week to reveal further information on their findings. The supplement samples were tested by the Utah-based company Sports Medicine Research & Testing.
