WrestleMaia 40 saw several wrestlers we did not expect to see a year ago inside a WWE ring. This includes The Rock, Undertaker and CM Punk. With the buzz of WrestleMania ending, we will likely see less of those names. The Rock is already back in Hollywood, with a return to wrestling looking like late 2024 or WrestleMania 41. Undertaker is still retired and filled the spot designed for Steve Austin. It is not clear why Austin did not work the epic event. Finally, Punk is out until summer after an injury. His absence caused major changes to the top storylines.

With so many names stepping back inside a ring, Booker T is getting that itch. The WWE Hall of Famer noted on his Hall of Fame podcast, about coming out retirement.  “It’s hard to walk away from it,” said Booker T. “It really is. It’s so hard. I look at Matt and Jeff [Hardy], Chris Jericho, Taker, The Rock sneaking into WrestleMania 40. That’s what the business is. We never really retire. Even myself, I’m thinking about having another match at Reality of Wrestling. I’ve been training. I’ve been getting myself together in the gym on a regular basis. I’m on the 30 day ab workout. I’m like, man, I can still do this. How are you gonna tell a man he can’t do it no more? You can’t do it.”

Better Options Than WWE

His last match was in January 2023 as a surprise entrant in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match. The event came from Texas, which was the perfect way to retire. Booker T only lasted about 45 seconds before Gunther sent him over the top rope. Even though it was short, the spot worked and that should be how Booker T leaves the business.

Instead, he is going to attempt a comeback while also calling action at the commentary table. He recently turned 59 years old and I would prefer he stays out of the ring. If he cannot help himself, there is always Reality of Wrestling. The former WCW and WWE Champion owns and operates the Texas based wrestling promotion. So, is a Booker T in-ring return something fans actually want to see?
