A new report claims that one of AEW’s best homegrown stars could be hitting pro wrestling free agency very soon and is interested in seeing what his value is with rival promotion WWE.

Over the last few months, pro wrestling free agency has made a boatload of headlines. While AEW has landed the biggest names on the market — Will Ospreay, Kazuchicka Okada, and Mercedes Mone — WWE has also made quite a few moves of varying importance.

Of course, the biggest signing the company made was adding former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill, however, they also brought back former stars Naomi and Shawn Spears, as well as talented prospect Brian Pillman Jr. (AKA Lexis Kings). However, there are rumblings they could be a serious contender for another talented youngster and AEW veteran.

On Friday, SEScoops reported that “Hook (Tyler Senerchia) is interested in exploring his options in free agency once his contract with All Elite Wrestling expires later this year.”

WWE would reportedly target AEW star Hook if he hits free agency later this year

Hook is the current FTW champion and the son of ECW legend and WWE alum Taz(z). The 24-year-old joined the company in 2020 and has slowly been built up into one of AEW’s prized young stars in that time. While he may want to go to WWE, would the pro wrestling world leader be interested in his services?

“I can see WWE clearly being interested in him,” a source familiar with WWE’s recruitment strategy told the outlet today.

Hook is unlikely to land a main roster spot if he were to sign with WWE. However, taking his talents to NXT where he can be coached up by wrestling legends like Shawn Michaels would be a perfect way to help him reach his potential as a future second-generation superstar.
