Mark Coleman continues to improve following a heroic act by the UFC legend that resulted in him saving the lives of his mother and father.
Coleman, who has been hospitalized since rushing into a burning home, released a video on Thursday.
“I swear to God, I’m so lucky,” Coleman said. “Can’t believe my parents are alive; had to make a decision.
“I got out of my room and went to the door and it was already horrible; couldn’t breathe. Almost had to go outside but I went back and got them; can’t believe it.”

On Wednesday, Coleman suffered smoke inhalation after returning to the family home in Toledo, Ohio. He carried out both of his parents and dog, though the family pet has since passed away.
Coleman is a 2008 UFC Hall of Famer and pioneer in mixed martial arts. He won an NCAA Div. I wrestling championship competing for the Ohio State University in 1988. Four years later, Coleman represented the United States at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.
His daughter, Kenzie, offered an update on the former fighter.
“God is good,” she said. “Miracles do happen. Our dad is breathing on his own. We still have a long road ahead of us but we are truly thankful.
“We want to thank you all for the love and support from the bottom of our hearts.”

Coleman’s daughters have set up a GoFundMe account to help offset his medical expenses.
“My sister and I set up this GoFundMe for our dad,” Kenzie wrote. “If you would like to donate anything is appreciated. If not thoughts, prayers, and good vibes are just as much appreciated.
“We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the support. We love you all. Hammer House is 4 life.”
Over $81,000 has been raised for the family.
